Shelves Part II

Happy Friday!
I thought I'd follow up on last week's post to complete the circle regarding the shelves.
It was a busy week, lots of heavy lifting and setting of the shelves. It all went together very well and I'm quite pleased with the results. It's amazing how much storage you now have in the hallway and main living areas.
The bolts, cleats and drilled holes into the backs of each shelf definitely provided for a solid installation. There are no sags. Dan was teasing me about how many bolts I have in each shelf, but hey, I have no idea what you may store on them, so I want to be prepared... in the event you need to use them for a weight rack or extra sleeping bunks...
The photos demonstrate the full 'behind the scenes' methods used to carry the materials over their respective spans. It's a project milestone, for sure. Plus a bonus pic of our Thursday morning visitor close to the house.
On Monday, I'll be starting the milling of the strips for the butcher block countertop at the kitchen island. The drop leaf will certainly be a challenge and I look forward to getting deeper into the engineering to achieve that functionality.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Til next time, cheers!
