Intentions

Good morning...

For this post, I thought it relevant at this stage of the build to reflect and stay connected to the intentions for the project. The design principles you and Renée established early on and shared with me are still ever present each day in the shop. They are printed out and the first thing I see in the morning as I walk through the shop door.

Aligning the craft process with the values set by all of you is how we create your intentional home. As a maker, this is the foundation for every step of the process, it's the plan... and I always like a good plan... Every decision, cut or joint made along the path needs to hold true to the principles of being Humble, Unpretentious, Uncomplicated(ha!), Raw, Direct Solutions and my personal favorite, Clarity of Idea...

As the kitchen island was wrapped up this week and now the wood selection for the vanities begins, having these intentions set in place allows for creative freedom all while providing the confidence that we are all on the same page. It's a beautiful way to craft.

So, with all of this in mind, here are some visuals to enjoy...

Til next time... cheers!

Setting the sliding dovetail strong backs for the island doors to keep them flat and allow for movement. No mechanical fasteners here. just good ole physics.
